Ambient temperature: 22°C. The grip of the Leidon tires seemed bottomless.
Since there were a lot of cars during the 3-hour track day, my GoPro ran out of battery when I set a time of 1'12.72, so I don’t have any in-car footage.
At first, there were a lot of cars on the track, but later, with fewer cars and cooler temperatures, the data showed a 0.5-second gain, all between Turn 12 and the end of the straight before Turn 1.
It was my first time using the R31 tires, and I felt quite unaccustomed to them. However, the temperature control was excellent, with almost no heat fade. The only minor issue was that the tires didn’t squeal at all, making it hard to judge their grip limits, but that’s more of a driver issue than a tire issue.
The goal is to hit the low 12-second mark, so I’ll keep pushing!
