The Caterham 270R is a rear-wheel-drive race-oriented sportscar produced from 2015 to 2018 at the Caterham factory located in Dartford, Kent, England. This road-legal racer operates with a 1.6 Litre naturally aspirated Ford Sigma engine achieving a maximum output power of 135 Bhp, coupled with a five-speed or six-speed manual gearbox. It revs seamlessly to a 122 MPH top speed, accelerating from 0-62 MPH in under 5 seconds. Although this is a powerful performance car and though track challenger, by all means, its real value comes from the concept it stands for and the hype it brings to the table whenever you get it out for a ride.
The Caterham 270R delivers an unpretentious, raw racing performance, especially suited for speed lovers wanting to go back to the basics of motorsports. It comes out of the factory wearing alloy 15 inches wheels (13- inches are also available) as an option, with 175/55 Avon CR500 tires both front and rear, supported by a wider front track, and a sport suspension with an adjustable rear anti-roll bar. It also contains a limited-slip differential and a larger brake master cylinder for stopping power. The price of this English racecar is around 14,995 €, but the experiences and memories it creates are priceless.
