The Toyota Altezza RS200 SXE10 (1998-2005, sold as Lexus IS 200 in some markets) represents Toyota's compact sport sedan. The RS200 features the 3S-GE 2.0-liter inline-four producing 207 horsepower (154 kW) at 7,600 rpm with BEAMS (Breakthrough Engine with Advanced Mechanism System) technology. Power is delivered through a 6-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels. Performance includes 0-60 mph in 7.8 seconds with 143 mph top speed. The Altezza features near-50:50 weight distribution, double wishbone front suspension, multi-link rear, limited-slip differential, and weighs approximately 2,760 pounds. The high-revving 3S-GE delivers linear power with 8,200 rpm redline. The Altezza gained fame for its distinctive LED tail lights, refined handling dynamics, and rear-wheel-drive layout. Popular in drifting and tuning communities, the Altezza offers Toyota reliability with engaging driving dynamics and strong aftermarket support.
