This session was part of testing for the upcoming NASA East Coast Championships at Watkins Glen. Although the team didn't surpass their previous lap record of 1:40.6 from September of the prior year, they came within 0.2 seconds of it. The car was running on high heat cycle A7 tires, which showed significant wear by the next session. The driver estimates that with new 'sticker' tires, a lap time in the 1:38s would have been achievable.
