Acura RSX Type S

Notes

The Honda Acura RSX Type S (2002-2006, known as Honda Integra Type R DC5 in Japan) represents Honda's final iteration of the legendary Integra Type R lineage in North American markets. The RSX Type S features the K20Z1 2.0-liter inline-four i-VTEC engine producing 201 horsepower (150 kW) at 7,800 rpm and 142 lb-ft (193 Nm) of torque at 7,000 rpm in North American specification. Power is delivered through a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with helical limited-slip differential to the front wheels.

Performance figures include 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 140 mph. The Type S features comprehensive performance enhancements including sport-tuned suspension with stiffer springs and dampers, larger Brembo brakes with 4-piston calipers, 17-inch wheels, aggressive aerodynamics, Recaro seats, and weighs approximately 2,850 pounds. The K20Z1 engine embodies Honda's i-VTEC naturally aspirated excellence with high-revving power delivery (8,000 rpm redline), linear powerband, and exceptional reliability. The RSX Type S gained legendary status in the tuning and track day community thanks to the K20's high modification potential, balanced chassis, and precise handling. In stock form, the RSX Type S delivers Honda's VTEC naturally aspirated character, front-wheel-drive dynamics, and driver-focused philosophy in a refined sport coupe package, making it one of the most beloved front-wheel-drive sport cars and a worthy successor to the Integra Type R heritage.
