Caterham
C400
Notes
The Caterham C400 is a one-seater/Rear-wheel-drive racecar designed by Colin Chapman and produced by the British manufacturer Caterham Cars in Surrey, United Kingdom, from 2005 to 2010. The design revolves around the R400 chassis adding a few high-performance tweaks like a limited-slip differential to make it more relevant, faster, and more reliable for track diving. This racing champion runs with a 2.0L DOHC Cosworth Duratec engine delivering a maximum power of 220 Bhp and 160 Lb of torque when combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It reaches a top registered speed of 144 Mph and goes from 0-60Mph in 3.6 seconds.
The C400 incorporates 195/45R15 Avon CR500 tires on all 4-wheels, supported by wide track wishbones and a modified ventilated discs brake system (with an AP brake bias valve). The lowered driver's floor, the Momo quick release steering wheel, or the Race Bilstein dampers are additional features one can add to the Caterham C400 to gain an even more excellent race performance. The price of this Caterham C400 oscillates from $20K to 30,000 dollars today, and considering this street-legal racer is not an average daily driver, the leading market niche for the Caterham C400 is among consolidated motorsport fans.
