メモ

The Pescarolo 01, introduced in 2007, represents the first sports prototype racing car built entirely by French team Pescarolo Sport under the leadership of legendary French driver Henri Pescarolo. Designed to meet both LMP1 and LMP2 regulations for Le Mans Prototypes in the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 01 chassis replaced Pescarolo previous C60 platform with a purpose-built design making its competition debut at the 2007 1000 km of Monza. The car featured a mid-engine, longitudinally-mounted configuration with X-Trac 6-speed sequential manual transmission, weighing the minimum 925 kg (2,039 lbs) required by regulations. The most common configuration housed a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter Judd V10 engine with double air-restrictors mounted in the base of the second roll-hoop.

The Pescarolo 01 achieved remarkable success at the 2007 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Pescarolo Sport own entry finishing an impressive 3rd overall behind the diesel-powered Audi and Peugeot factory prototypes, while the customer Rollcentre Pescarolo finished 4th, marking the best finishes by petrol-powered cars in the race. This represented a significant achievement for the new chassis in its debut Le Mans appearance. The 01 chassis was used by multiple teams over subsequent seasons with various engine configurations including Mazda turbo and different Judd specifications for both LMP1 and LMP2 competition, establishing the Pescarolo 01 as a competitive and versatile platform in prototype endurance racing.
