This was the first track test for the EX530, performed in dry conditions on Pirelli Trofeo Sport tires. Despite narrowly missing a sub-2:35 lap, the team was highly satisfied with the performance, noting it appears to be the fastest Lotus lap ever recorded at Spa (excluding Formula 1).

The car is an Exige Cup430 upgraded to Komo-Tec EX530 specifications, featuring a 7-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift, a modified Komo-Tec/Nitron 2-way suspension kit, a Komo-Tec Unibal upright kit, and a Ko-Bra 4-4 brake kit. The vehicle is also equipped with an AIM dashboard for data recording, among other enhancements.
