#BigBig2 is slacking 6 with no PB’s this year. Decided to try a set of the #Nankang CRS after hearing from the community and internet that they are quicker than the #Yokohama A052 I’ve been running. Although the data seems to agree as I can see around a 0.5 sec optimal improvement from my PB’s last year, I couldn’t really string that best lap together. The CRS don’t quite feel as consistent as the A052, while they require more heat and the peak performance window seems shorter. They seem best used in a controlled environment instead of scrambling through traffic to find a clean lap at the ideal parameters. This kind of reminds me of the dilemma I had back then between the #Hankook RS4 and #Bridgestone RE71R which supposedly also had the higher raw grip, but my times in the RS4 were actually quicker because they were easier to modulate at the limit. Would have liked to try a set of the new RE71RS to compare, but I’ve already overspent on this season’s budget with the recent acquisition of the ZD8. Guess the 15 chase continues and maybe BigBig2 doesn’t want to be benched just yet.
