Little trip to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in a road legal MX5 (NC / 2007).
One of the first few laps of the day, this was a 2:10:06... But let's get some race driver excuses out of the way:
* Traffic in T10 killed a bit of time (backed out as wasn't sure if Porsche was on a slow lap or just gone deep and was about to turn in on me)
* Found 7 tenths in later laps from T9 onwards (less lift through T9 and penultimate corner), but traffic on those later laps meant slower overall lap time.
* Brake bias too far rearward in these early laps which meant for T1, 4, and 10 rear lock was a bit of an issue and meant I was braking a little earlier than was necessary.
A low 2:09 should be easily doable next time!
Hopefully lower than that with some setup tweaks- some corner-exit understeer proving to be a bit limiting on this day.
