1995: A Cobra R variant was introduced, featuring a 5.8-liter V8 producing 300 horsepower, along with weight-saving measures like no rear seats, air conditioning, or radio.
1996: The SVT Cobra switched to a 4.6-liter DOHC V8 engine producing 305 horsepower, marking the introduction of Ford’s Modular engine architecture, along with updated taillights and wheels.
1997: Minor updates included additional interior trim options and revised exterior paint colors while retaining the 4.6-liter V8 engine.
1998: The final year of the SN95 Cobra featured small refinements, including slight adjustments to the suspension and the addition of optional chrome wheels.
