El Mercedes-AMG GT R es una variante de alto rendimiento de dos puertas y tracción trasera del AMG GT, presentado en el Festival de la Velocidad de Goodwood en 2016. Es un diseño de Robert Lesnik y Jan Kaul, ensamblado en Sindelfingen, Alemania, desde 2017 hasta 2019. Este modelo de máximo rendimiento cuenta con un motor V8 turboalimentado de 4.0L, que entrega una potencia máxima de 585 hp y 700 Nm de torque, asociado a una transmisión automática de 7 velocidades que lleva este coche de 0 a 60 mph en solo 3.6 segundos, alcanzando una velocidad máxima de 198 mph. Como superdeportivo moderno, incluye todas las características que un amante de la velocidad buscaría al planear su próxima compra.
Este Mercedes presenta una estética deportiva impecable y es capaz de rendimientos increíbles en días de pista, y aunque pueda resultar un poco más caro, no hay duda de que es un modelo imprescindible. El alerón trasero ajustable, las nuevas tomas de aire delanteras y un sistema de control de tracción AMG con 9 modos son algunas de las características de alta gama incluidas en esta variante. Para rodar, monta neumáticos 275/35R19 en el eje delantero y 325/30R20 en el trasero, apoyados por una suspensión de muelles helicoidales y un sistema de frenos con discos ventilados. El Mercedes-AMG GT R tiene un precio de $76,988, y considerando una máquina de carreras tan excepcional, es un valor excelente a pagar.
