2023: Updates included the introduction of the iDrive 8 infotainment system with a curved display, enhanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, and expanded customization options for interior trims and exterior colors.
2024: Power was increased to 523 hp for the Competition xDrive model. Subtle design changes included redesigned headlights and new wheel options. Interior updates introduced a flat-bottom steering wheel with a red 12 o'clock marker and updated ambient lighting. BMW Operating System 8.5 was implemented for an improved user interface.
