Barbagallo Raceway/Wanneroo Raceway Notes

The Barbagallo Raceway, also known as Wanneroo Raceway is the home of motorsports in Western Australia since 1969. Located in the farmlands of Neerabup, on a 40-minutes ride north of Perth, Australia, Wanneroo is a top-notch spot for high-performance race cars and motorcycles, with a simple but engaging L-shaped layout that is more challenging in practice than in theory. Perth enjoys a pleasant Mediterranean climate ideal for outdoor adventures year-round, with mild winters with no snow, warm summers, and even precipitations among seasons. A remarkable feature of this raceway is its 78 feet of vertical gain, which adds to the track's allure by providing a three-dimensional edge to consider for racing strategy.

Races at Barbagallo/Wanneroo start in the middle of the front straightaway, surrounded by ample runoffs, and ends in a braking sector at turn number one entry. Turns two and three are snaking sweepers that go left and then right, and lead into an uphill climb in turn number four. This long curve goes blind until reaching corner five, a fast-paced sweeper going downhill at top speed. Corner six requires excellent control as it tends to pull drivers out of the track and gets faster as you head out into the long back straightaway.  This last straight feels like a rollercoaster: drivers need to climb a hill and then dive down after reaching the hillcrest, all in a couple of seconds. Turn seven goes uphill right after hitting the bottom of the back straight, getting drivers into the last stretch for another round of pure adrenaline rush.
