Ferrari
458 Challenge EVO
Notes
The Ferrari 458 Challenge EVO is the racing version of the 458 Italia developed for Ferrari's one-make Challenge series, with the "EVO" evolution package introduced for the 2014 season bringing aerodynamic and electronic improvements. The Challenge EVO features the 458's naturally aspirated 4.5-liter F136 V8 engine producing approximately 562 horsepower at 9,000 rpm, with power delivered through Ferrari's F1-derived dual-clutch transmission with E-Diff3 electronic differential. The engine redlines at 9,000 rpm, delivering the characteristically dramatic Ferrari V8 soundtrack and linear power delivery.
The EVO package introduced new front and rear aerodynamics with revised splitters and wing for increased downforce and improved cooling, upgraded Brembo CCM2 carbon-ceramic brakes with improved thermal management, revised electronic systems including improved traction control and stability control calibrations, and enhanced data acquisition systems. Weighing approximately 2,689 pounds (1,220 kg) with full FIA safety equipment including roll cage and fire suppression, the 458 Challenge EVO achieves lap times approaching GT3 cars despite the control formula limiting modifications. The Ferrari Challenge series represents one of the world's most prestigious one-make championships, running globally across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific regions with hundreds of participants racing identical 458 Challenge EVO cars. The series provides intense competition where driver skill, setup knowledge, and racecraft determine results rather than budget, while Ferrari provides comprehensive factory support, parts availability, and the prestige of racing the Prancing Horse in professional one-make competition.
