Circuit du Val de Vienne Notes

The Circuit du Val de Vienne is a 3.73-km (2.32-mile) road course located in Le Vigeant, a picturesque town in the French countryside, 50 miles south of Poitiers. The circuit opened its doors in 1990, hosting several international and domestic racing events like the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and the French Formula 4 Championship. The Circuit du Val de Vienne experiences cold winters and pleasant summers, with 154 rainy days a year and a temperate climate primed for racing. The race track consists of 17 turns, many tight angles corners, and some sweeping turns left and right to keep the average speed high.

The Circuit du Val de Vienne starts in the longest straightaway of the track, and from there, it takes the first turn known as Arnaud Biet, a four-apex corner shaped like a rectangle. Turns number 2 and 3 give way to a long sweeper number four, allowing pilots to go full speed. Turn six is another composite, four apex turn, taking drivers to the S du Sanglier, another fast-paced sweeping turn combination. The Trop Tard comes in turn number 8 and then comes a batch of five tightly-packed curves requiring top technical skills from the drivers to avoid hitting the curbs.
