The Generation 2 (Mk2) MX-5 Cup car, introduced for the 2016 season, is based on the ND-generation MX-5 platform and features a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine producing approximately 160 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission with close-ratio gearing optimized for circuit racing.
