Powered by a 999cc Suzuki K7 motorcycle engine paired with six-speed sequential transaxle featuring limited-slip differential, the F1K.12 achieves remarkable power-to-weight ratio with dry weight of just 765 lbs and wet weight of 785 lbs. With 225 lbs of ballast simulating driver weight and full fluids (1 gallon fuel, 6 quarts oil, filled cooling system), complete race weight reaches approximately 1,010 lbs. The motorcycle-derived powerplant enables top speeds exceeding 170 mph with explosive acceleration befitting single-seat formula car design. Final drive ratios can be optimized for different circuits through sprocket changes.
