The BMW M5 F90 is a high-performance luxury sedan from BMW's M Division, known for blending impressive power with comfort and advanced technology. The exterior design of the M5 F90 features an aggressive front fascia with large air intakes, a sculpted hood, and signature M-design side mirrors. The rear boasts quad exhaust tips and a subtle trunk lid spoiler, highlighting its sporty nature without compromising its refined look. The M5 rides on lightweight alloy wheels, with an optional carbon-ceramic brake package available for those seeking enhanced braking performance.

Inside, the M5 F90 provides a luxurious and tech-focused cabin. 2018: The F90 M5 debuted with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. It featured an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW's M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which could be switched to rear-wheel drive. This model marked the first M5 with all-wheel drive.
2019: BMW introduced the M5 Competition variant, increasing power to 617 horsepower. The Competition model featured a lowered and stiffened suspension, unique tuning, and black exterior accents. The standard M5 remained largely unchanged.
2021: The M5 received a significant facelift (Life Cycle Impulse). Updates included a revised front grille design, new LED headlights and taillights, and restyled front and rear bumpers. Inside, a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display was introduced, along with an updated infotainment system featuring Android Auto compatibility and BMW's cloud-based navigation. The M5 Competition also received revised shock absorbers and a recalibrated damper control system.
2022: BMW introduced the limited-run M5 CS, the most powerful M5 to date, producing 627 horsepower. The CS model featured weight reductions, unique styling elements, and exclusive interior appointments. The standard M5 and M5 Competition models continued with minor updates, primarily focusing on available options and color choices.
2023: The M5 continued with subtle equipment changes. The M5 Competition was offered as an optional equipment package rather than a separate model. BMW discontinued six exterior color options, replacing them with two new ones: Skyscraper Gray metallic and San Remo Green metallic. Mechanically, the M5 remained unchanged, maintaining its powerful performance and luxury features.
