2002年から2004年のポルシェ・スーパーカップに参戦。2002年モデルのGT3カップは、996.2カレラおよびターボモデルをベースに複数の改良が施され、ターボスタイルのヘッドライトを採用した。新しいボディは空力性能と冷却性能を大幅に向上させている。エンジン出力は280 kW（381 PS; 375 bhp）、トルクは380 N⋅m（280 lbf⋅ft）に引き上げられ、トランスミッション冷却の改善、軽量化された排気システム、その他車体全体の軽量化措置も施された。2004年シーズンにはさらなるアップグレードが行われ、エンジン出力は7,200 rpmで287 kW（390 PS; 385 bhp）、トルクは6,500 rpmで390 N⋅m（288 lbf⋅ft）にわずかに向上。4速、5速、6速のギア比はショート化され、89リットルの燃料タンクにより耐久レース性能が強化された。インテリアにはHANSデバイス使用を可能にする変更が加えられている。
