Autódromo de Tocancipá Note

The Autodromo de Tocancipá is a 1.69-mile (2.71-km) road course located in Tocancipá, Cundinamarca, an hour road trip away from Bogotá Colombia. It has been the country's top motorsports destination since 1981 and hosts the 6 Horas de Bogotá, an endurance racing competition featuring motorsport teams from all around Colombia. The climate at the raceway location is pleasant year-round and optimal for outdoor activities like racing given its altitude of 2,640 meters (8661 feet) above sea level, which moderates the tropical heat and keeps the temperature around 20 degrees Celsius (60 degrees Fahrenheit) on average. There are 181 rainy days in Tocancipá scattered throughout the year, so it is vital to prepare accordingly.

There are 14 corners in the Autodromo de Tocancipá, running counterclockwise and starting near the end of the front straight. Turns one to four come in quick succession and are hard to maneuver at high speed, but after hitting turn five, racers can press their gas pedal and face turn seven at 180 km/h (111 mph). Turn seven is a long left-hander leading into the fastest acceleration sector of the track, with sweepers eight and nine allowing velocities of 200 km/h (124 mph). The remainder of the road course is highly technical, with a challenging Parabolika-like turn combination of turns 13 and 14 completing the loop back into the front straight.
