YEAR NOTES

2014: The M4 F82 debuted with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine producing 425 horsepower. Standard features included adaptive suspension, 18-inch wheels, and a carbon-fiber roof.
2015: BMW introduced the Competition Package, increasing engine output to 444 horsepower. It included revised suspension tuning, a sport exhaust system, and unique 20-inch wheels.
2016: The M4 received minor updates, including new LED taillights and interior enhancements like updated iDrive software.
2017: Adaptive M suspension and navigation became standard across all M4 models. The Competition Package continued with its performance enhancements.
2018: BMW introduced the M4 CS, positioned between the Competition Package and the GTS model. It featured 454 horsepower, unique styling elements, and weight-saving measures.
2019: To comply with emissions regulations, BMW replaced the carbon fiber driveshaft with a steel one. This change was necessary to accommodate the Otto Particulate Filter (OPF).
