Mustang Boss 302S

Notas

The Ford Mustang Boss 302S, produced from 2012 to 2014, represents a turn-key race car developed by Ford Performance in collaboration with Watson Engineering specifically for SCCA, NASA, and Pirelli World Challenge GTS class competition. Based on the fifth-generation S197 Mustang platform, the Boss 302S featured a 5.0-liter Ford Racing Motorsport Boss 302 V8 engine producing approximately 450 crank horsepower (depending on fuel), paired with a TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission and Torsen T2R limited-slip differential with 3.73 gears. The ProCal tuning tool allowed owners to optimize ECU programs for either 91 or 98 octane fuel, maximizing power for different competition requirements.

Track-focused equipment included Multimatic coilovers with remote reservoirs and three-way adjustable dampers, caster/camber plates, adjustable Ford Racing sway bars, Brembo four-piston brakes with 14-inch front and 12-inch rear rotors with PFC pads and Ford Racing brake ducts, FIA-specification 6-point roll cage, RECARO racing seat, AIM MXL data-acquisition system with GPS, and fire suppression system. The G-Stream adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing, front splitter, and adjustable Panhard bar completed the competition package. Ford built just 150 units total (50 per year) at an MSRP of 9,000. In 2011, Mustangs won 10 of 12 Pirelli World Challenge GTS rounds, with Boss 302S entries capturing 6 victories, establishing the platform as a dominant force in grassroots road racing.
