El Honda Civic Type R FL5, presentado en 2023, es la última generación del modelo Civic de alto rendimiento de Honda, diseñado para entusiastas que buscan una combinación de velocidad, manejo y usabilidad diaria. El FL5 se basa en el éxito de su predecesor, el FK8, con una aerodinámica mejorada, un tren motriz refinado y un manejo potenciado.
El FL5 está impulsado por un motor turboalimentado de cuatro cilindros en línea de 2.0 litros, que produce 315 caballos de fuerza y 310 lb-ft de torque, un aumento respecto al modelo anterior. Este motor se combina con una transmisión manual de 6 velocidades, que cuenta con un sistema revisado de sincronización de revoluciones para cambios descendentes más suaves. La configuración de tracción delantera incluye un diferencial de deslizamiento limitado helicoidal, que ayuda a gestionar el torque y mejorar el agarre en curvas, otorgando al FL5 características de manejo precisas.
El diseño exterior del FL5 es más refinado que el estilo agresivo del FK8, con una postura más baja y ancha y sutiles mejoras aerodinámicas como un alerón trasero más grande, ventilaciones funcionales y un parachoques delantero rediseñado para mejorar la refrigeración y el flujo de aire. La carrocería ha sido reforzada, aumentando la estabilidad a altas velocidades y la respuesta durante una conducción dinámica.
En el interior, el FL5 mantiene una cabina enfocada en el conductor con asientos deportivos específicos Type R, un interior con acentos en rojo y un cuadro de instrumentos digital único con pantallas orientadas al rendimiento. Entre las características de serie se incluyen el último sistema de infoentretenimiento de Honda con pantalla táctil, Apple CarPlay y Android Auto, además de una gama de ayudas a la conducción como control de crucero adaptativo y asistente de mantenimiento de carril.
El Honda Civic Type R FL5 sigue siendo uno de los coches de alto rendimiento con tracción delantera más buscados, ofreciendo una combinación equilibrada de potencia, precisión y practicidad tanto para días de pista como para la conducción diaria.
