Lakeside Park Notas

The Lakeside Park raceway in Kurwongbah, Australia, is Queensland's Spiritual Home of Motorsports. The 1.49-mile (2.39-km) was paved by a group of volunteer members of the Queensland Motor Sporting Club back in 19611, using their own free time and resources. The racetrack sits in the agricultural lands of Kurwongbah, on a forty-minute ride north of Brisbane. The Australian Touring Car Championship, the Australian Superbike Championship, and the Tasman Series, among several other motorsport events, used the Lakeside Park raceway until 2001 when they moved to the nearby Queensland Raceway. The racetrack remained closed until its reopening for local competitions in 2008.

The layout of Lakeside Park is straightforward, with eight corners taken at a counterclockwise orientation. It looks like a twisted oval when seen from above. The undulating terrain provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the trajectory, causing blind corners due to the visibility restriction in various sectors. Lakeside Park is a fast-paced circuit, with an average speed of 91 mph (146 km/h) and an average lap time of 0:58.9. The subtropical climate of Brisbane is ideal for racing, with warm weather year-round and 180 rainy days on average. Racing at Lakeside Park racetrack is a powerful experience for any driver, experienced and newbies alike, and mastering this circuit will provide any racer with a valuable skillset to triumph anywhere else.
