É uma criação de Masakazu Udagawa e Yoshi Kigoyoshi, produzido em massa de 1995 a 2000. Equipado com um motor 1.6L SOCH VTEC-E acoplado a uma transmissão manual de 5 velocidades, este carro vai de 0 a 60 MPH em 10,8 segundos, atingindo 110 MPH. Seu consumo combinado de combustível de 31 MPG é o motivo pelo qual conquistou uma reputação merecida por sua excelente economia de combustível, eficiência e confiabilidade. 1996: The EK Civic debuted as the sixth generation, available in multiple trims (DX, LX, EX, CX, HX, and SiR in some markets) and body styles (hatchback, coupe, and sedan). Engine options included the D16Y series for most trims, with the high-performance B16A2 engine in the SiR for select markets
1997: Minor updates, mostly focused on additional color options and small interior improvements. The lineup and engine choices remained the same.
1998: The Civic received a facelift with new headlights, taillights, grille, and front and rear bumpers. Interior materials were improved, and the Si trim was reintroduced in the U.S., featuring the 1.6L B16A2 DOHC VTEC engine with 160 hp.
1999: Small feature updates, including additional standard equipment for certain trims. The Si remained popular in the U.S. market with the high-revving B16A2 engine.
2000: Final production year for the EK generation, with minimal changes as Honda prepared to launch the seventh generation. The model lineup and engine options remained consistent.
