El Audi R8 V10 Type 4S, también conocido como la segunda generación del R8, debutó en 2015 y sigue en producción (con actualizaciones) en los modelos más recientes. Este modelo está impulsado por un motor V10 atmosférico de 5.2L, compartido con el Lamborghini Huracán, que ofrece potencias que inicialmente oscilaban entre aproximadamente 540 hp y 610 hp en la variante "V10 Plus". El Type 4S cuenta con el sistema de tracción total Quattro de Audi (con algunos modelos que ofrecen una variante de tracción trasera), una transmisión S-Tronic de doble embrague y 7 velocidades, y una estructura avanzada de aluminio y fibra de carbono, lo que lo hace más ligero y ágil que la generación anterior.
