The Ariel Atom 2 is a racing-optimized open-wheeler with a rear-wheel-drive configuration designed by Niki Smart under a futuristic high-performance profile. The Ariel Atom 2 provides a raw, back-to-the-basics encounter between driver and machine to push the limits of both to gain victories on the track. The Ariel Motor Company produces this street-legal racer in Somerset, England. This 2003-2007 iteration includes a 6-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged 2.0L I-6MT VTEC engine, delivering a maximum horsepower of 223 Hp at 8200 Rpm and 197 Nm of peak torque at 6100 Rpm. It is a top contender in any racetrack setting, offering a 140 Mph top speed and going from 0-62 Mph in 3.5 seconds, proving that sometimes less represents more.

This exotic lightweight automobile is an excellent choice for race-car enthusiasts around the globe, with high-performance features, ladder-type exoskeleton design, and a $41,980 price tag. The Ariel Atom 2 includes a digital LCD screen in the instrument panel, showing the speed and other relevant information. This particular model doesn't have any doors, windows, or roofs. In change, it comes with two thin carbon-fiber seats and a new grille on the upper side of the engine's intake. The standard tire setup incorporates Toyo R888 185/60R14, supported by a much-improved suspension and brake system. The Ariel Atom 2 is a shining British jewel, way above its competitors in the street-legal racer market niche. This magnificent piece of automotive engineering defines the racer that any motorhead would like to own.

YEAR NOTES

2003: The Ariel Atom 2 debuted with a 2.0L Honda i-VTEC K20A engine sourced from the Honda Civic Type R, producing around 220 hp. The Atom’s exposed tubular steel chassis design provided a minimalist, lightweight structure, and the combination of low weight and high power-to-weight ratio delivered exceptional acceleration and handling.
2004: Ariel introduced a supercharged version of the Atom 2, increasing power output to around 275 hp. This supercharged variant featured enhanced cooling and slight structural reinforcements to handle the additional power, making it even faster and more capable on the track. The supercharged Atom 2 was among the fastest-accelerating road-legal vehicles available at the time.
2005: Further refinement of the Atom 2 included improved suspension components and optional adjustable dampers, allowing drivers to fine-tune the ride for both street and track use. Ariel also made slight modifications to the chassis for increased rigidity and handling precision, enhancing the car's performance dynamics.
2006: Ariel offered a more powerful 300 hp version of the supercharged 2.0L engine, along with additional customization options. The increased power brought an even more extreme performance, and Ariel introduced an optional limited-slip differential for better traction and cornering stability. Slight interior upgrades included more comfortable seating and an improved instrument cluster for better readability.
2007: The final year of production for the Atom 2, with Ariel focusing on refining existing components. No significant mechanical changes were made as Ariel prepared to transition to the Atom 3, which would introduce a new chassis and engine options.
