2008: The Exige S240 was introduced as a performance-focused variant with a 1.8L supercharged inline-four engine producing 240 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. Key features included a 6-speed manual transmission, adjustable sport suspension, high-performance brakes, and aerodynamic enhancements like a rear wing and front splitter. Inside, the Exige S240 offered a minimalist interior with lightweight materials, focused on keeping the car's weight low for optimal performance.
2009: Lotus made minor updates, including improved cooling for the supercharger and slight suspension adjustments to enhance handling and comfort on rougher surfaces. Optional upgrades, such as lightweight forged alloy wheels and a performance pack with track-focused features, became available.
