The Honda Prelude BB5-BB9 is a classic sports car embodying the fifth generation of the Prelude Series. It retained the 2-door, front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout designed by Manabu Konaka. The assembly lines of Suzuka, Japan, produced the car from 1996 to 2001. It incorporated high-end functional and stylish features for the time, such as the rear windscreen wipers, body-color bumpers, and the 16-inch Speedline Chrono alloy wheels that help improve its aerodynamics, weight, and performance. This brilliant variant comes powered by a 2.2L inline-4 naturally-aspirated DOHC engine delivering a maximum output power of 190 HP at 6800 Rpm and 158lb-ft of torque at 5500Rpm. The 5-speed manual transmission of the car allows it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds to reach a 141 Mph top speed. The Honda Prelude B5-BB9 has a market value of $5,500 within the low-cost daily driver market niche.
This Prelude BB5-BB9 conveys what a fun, simple, and exciting coupe should look and feel like. Some of its performance features include Honda's active torque system to counteract the understeer inherent in an FWD and a 5-lug hub. It runs with all-season 205/50/R16 87V tires, supported by a double-wishbone suspension and a ventilated brake system. The Honda Prelude BB5-BB9 was available in only three models in Canada and two in the USA. On the interior, it includes half-leather sports-style seats, electric windows, air conditioning, and a dashboard instrument light dimmer for comfort.
