La Mercedes-AMG GT R è una variante ad alte prestazioni a due porte e trazione posteriore della AMG GT, presentata al Goodwood Festival of Speed nel 2016. È un design di Robert Lesnik e Jan Kaul, assemblata a Sindelfingen, Germania, dal 2017 al 2019. Questa vettura top di gamma monta un motore V8 Turbo da 4.0L, che eroga una potenza massima di 585 Cv e 700 Nm di coppia, abbinato a un cambio automatico a 7 rapporti che consente di passare da 0 a 60 mph in soli 3,6 secondi, raggiungendo una velocità massima di 198 mph. Come moderna supercar, include tutte le dotazioni che un appassionato di velocità cerca nella sua prossima auto.
Questa Mercedes sfoggia un look sportivo impeccabile ed è capace di prestazioni incredibili in pista; sebbene possa risultare un po’ più costosa, non c’è dubbio che sia un modello da avere assolutamente. L’ala posteriore regolabile, le nuove prese d’aria anteriori e un sistema di controllo della trazione AMG a 9 modalità sono alcune delle caratteristiche di alto livello presenti in questa versione. Per affrontare la strada, monta pneumatici 275/35R19 all’anteriore e 325/30R20 al posteriore, supportati da sospensioni a molle elicoidali e freni a disco ventilati. La Mercedes-AMG GT R ha un prezzo di listino di 76.988 dollari e, considerando una macchina da corsa così eccezionale, rappresenta un valore eccellente da pagare.
