L'Audi R8 V10 Type 4S, conosciuta anche come la seconda generazione della R8, è stata presentata nel 2015 e rimane in produzione (con aggiornamenti) fino agli ultimi anni modello. Questo modello è equipaggiato con un motore V10 aspirato da 5,2 litri, condiviso con la Lamborghini Huracán, che eroga potenze inizialmente comprese tra circa 540 hp e 610 hp nella variante "V10 Plus". La Type 4S monta il sistema di trazione integrale Quattro di Audi (con alcune versioni disponibili anche con trazione posteriore), un cambio S-Tronic a doppia frizione a 7 rapporti e una struttura avanzata in alluminio e fibra di carbonio, che la rende più leggera e agile rispetto alla generazione precedente.
