O Toyota GR86 é um coupé esportivo leve, com tração traseira, desenvolvido em colaboração com a Subaru, lançado como sucessor do Toyota 86 em 2022. Ele conta com um motor boxer flat-four aspirado naturalmente de 2,4L que produz 228 hp e 184 lb-ft de torque — um aumento significativo em relação ao motor 2.0L do modelo anterior. Esse novo motor melhora o tempo de 0-60 mph do GR86 para cerca de 6 segundos com a transmissão manual, solucionando as críticas anteriores sobre a potência da geração anterior.
O GR86 mantém seu layout focado no motorista e o centro de gravidade baixo, graças ao motor boxer e à construção leve. Oferece opção de transmissão manual de 6 velocidades ou automática de 6 velocidades com paddle shifters. O chassi foi reforçado para melhorar a dirigibilidade, e a suspensão foi calibrada para proporcionar controle preciso e feedback, tornando-o extremamente prazeroso em estradas sinuosas ou em dias de pista.
O design exterior é elegante e aerodinâmico, com uma grade frontal agressiva, faróis de LED e linhas esculpidas que conferem uma estética esportiva.
