マツダMX-5カップは、マツダがそのスペックレーシングシリーズのために開発したMX-5ミアータロードスターをベースとした専用レーシングカーです。第2世代（Mk2）MX-5カップカーは、2016年シーズンに導入され、ND世代MX-5プラットフォームをベースとし、サーキットレーシング用に最適化されたクロスレシオギアリング付き6速マニュアルトランスミッションと組み合わせた約160馬力を生成する自然吸気2.0リッターSKYACTIV-G 4気筒エンジンを搭載しています。この車はレース準備完了状態で約2,100ポンドの重量で、優れたパワーウェイトレシオを達成し、スペックミアータレーシングを特徴づけるモメンタムベースのドライビングスタイルを維持しています。
マツダの指示の下、ロングロードレーシングによって構築された各MX-5カップカーは、フルロールケージ、レーシングシートとハーネス、消火システム、スペックボッシュエンジンマネジメント、ビルシュタインダンパー付き調整可能コイルオーバーサスペンション、リミテッドスリップディファレンシャル、レーシングブレーキパッド、BFグッドリッチgフォースライバルSスペックタイヤ付き17インチ鍛造アルミニウムホイール、最適化された空力を含む包括的なレーシング改造を特徴としています。
