2017: The Audi TT RS 8S debuted with a 2.5L turbocharged inline-five engine producing 394 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. It featured Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system, a 7-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch transmission, and could achieve 0-60 mph in about 3.6 seconds. Standard features included the Audi Virtual Cockpit, LED headlights, and a sport-tuned suspension, with optional carbon-ceramic brakes and a fixed rear wing for added performance.
2018: The TT RS continued with no major changes, with Audi focusing on refining the model's software and tuning. The car remained highly praised for its unique five-cylinder engine sound, impressive handling, and advanced interior technology.
2019: The TT RS received a mid-cycle refresh with updated exterior styling, including larger front air intakes, a revised front bumper, a new rear diffuser, and reshaped LED headlights and taillights. The interior received minor updates with improved materials and an optional Bang & Olufsen sound system. Audi added new driver-assistance features and revised the infotainment software for improved usability.
2020: Minor changes were made, mostly focusing on additional standard features, such as improved connectivity options and an expanded color palette. Performance specs remained the same, as Audi focused on fine-tuning the model for a more comfortable driving experience.
2022: The TT RS entered its final production year in the U.S. with the Heritage Edition, a limited-edition model featuring special colors and unique interior trims as a nod to the car's heritage. The Heritage Edition retained the same powertrain and performance features but included exclusive badging and aesthetic enhancements to commemorate the end of production.
