Rocky Mountain Motorsports
Rocky Mountain Motorsports (RMM) is a state-of-the-art motorsport facility located just outside Carstairs, Alberta, Canada, about 30 minutes north of Calgary. It officially opened in June 2022, becoming Canada's newest and most ambitious purpose-built road course. Designed by renowned track architect Tilke GmbH, the circuit aims to provide a challenging and rewarding experience for drivers of all skill levels.
The 3.5-kilometer (2.2-mile) road course boasts 16 turns, incorporating significant elevation changes that traverse the natural rolling terrain. The layout is a blend of high-speed straights, technical corners, and challenging braking zones. One of the circuit's defining features is "The Ridge," a series of undulating turns that demand precision and commitment. The track width varies between 12 and 15 meters to promote overtaking opportunities. The design allows for multiple configurations, including shorter circuit options, increasing its versatility for different types of events and driver training programs.
RMM is designed to host a wide variety of motorsport activities. While focused primarily on performance driving experiences and club racing, the track is suitable for hosting regional and national-level racing events for sports cars, GT cars, open-wheel cars, and motorcycles. The facility also provides opportunities for manufacturer testing, corporate events, and advanced driver training programs. The track features ample run-off areas, state-of-the-art safety barriers, and a dedicated medical center, prioritizing the safety of all participants.
