The Mazda Miata MX-5 Club is a performance-focused trim of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, aimed at enhancing handling and delivering a more engaging driving experience. Part of the ND generation (2016-present), the Club trim offers sporty features and unique styling elements that set it apart from the standard Sport and Grand Touring trims. It shares the same 2.0L naturally aspirated inline-four engine as other ND Miatas, initially producing around 155 hp from 2016 to 2018, and later upgraded to 181 hp in 2019, which improves acceleration and overall performance.
The Club trim is available with a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional automatic. When equipped with the manual, the Club includes performance-oriented features like a limited-slip differential, Bilstein shocks, and a front shock tower brace, all of which contribute to greater rigidity and handling precision. The sport-tuned suspension with larger anti-roll bars provides enhanced cornering stability and responsiveness. The manual version also includes upgraded Brembo brakes for improved stopping power and fade resistance, especially beneficial during spirited driving or track use. For additional styling and track-ready features, an optional Brembo/BBS Recaro Package adds forged BBS wheels, Brembo brakes, and Recaro sport seats.
Unique styling cues for the MX-5 Club include black 17-inch wheels and side sill extensions, giving it a distinct and aggressive look. Inside, it includes Mazda’s standard infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, and premium audio options like the Bose sound system. The MX-5 Club trim is popular among enthusiasts seeking a sharper, performance-oriented version of the Miata while maintaining the lightweight and nimble characteristics that the Miata is known for.
