L’Audi R8 V10 Type 4S, également connue sous le nom de R8 de deuxième génération, a fait ses débuts en 2015 et reste en production (avec des mises à jour) jusqu’aux modèles récents. Ce modèle est propulsé par un moteur V10 atmosphérique de 5,2 L, partagé avec la Lamborghini Huracán, offrant des puissances allant initialement d’environ 540 ch à 610 ch dans la version « V10 Plus ». La Type 4S est équipée du système de transmission intégrale Quattro d’Audi (avec certains modèles proposant une variante propulsion), d’une boîte S-Tronic à double embrayage et 7 rapports, ainsi que d’une structure avancée en aluminium et fibre de carbone, la rendant plus légère et plus agile que la génération précédente.
