2023: Launched with a 1.6L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine producing 300 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission. The GR-Four all-wheel-drive system allowed adjustable torque distribution. Three trims were available: Core, Circuit Edition, and the limited Morizo Edition.
2024: The Circuit Edition, initially a launch-year exclusive, continued production. A new Premium grade was introduced, offering additional features over the Core model. The Core grade now came standard with an open differential, with the option to upgrade to Torsen limited-slip differentials through the Performance package. No significant mechanical changes were made.
2025: An 8-speed automatic transmission option was introduced, expanding the GR Corolla's appeal. The engine's torque increased to 295 lb-ft. Suspension enhancements included front and rear rebound springs and optimized rear suspension geometry for improved stability. The Core grade now featured standard front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials. The Premium Plus grade replaced the Circuit Edition, offering similar features.
