La Camaro ZL1 1LE è stata presentata nel 2018, assemblata presso lo stabilimento GM Grand River di Lansing, Michigan. È il primo veicolo di produzione General Motors dotato di un alettone in fibra di carbonio e di un differenziale elettronico a slittamento limitato. Presenta inoltre una sospensione più rigida e ammortizzatori Multimatic a valvola a tamburo. Monta un motore V8 sovralimentato da 6,2 litri e 16 valvole che eroga 650 hp e 650 lb-ft, abbinato a un cambio manuale a 6 marce o automatico a 10 marce con trazione posteriore. La Camaro ZL1 1LE accelera da 0 a 60 mph in 3,7 secondi, con una velocità massima di circa 198 mph (319 km/h). Lo sterzo è preciso e comunicativo, e molti esperti ritengono che la Camaro ZL1 1LE abbia uno dei telai con la migliore tenuta di strada mai montati su una pony car.
La Camaro ZL1 1LE offre un cofano avvolto in nero satinato, uno splitter anteriore e uno spoiler posteriore a 3 pezzi. Il veicolo presenta inoltre una presa d’aria inferiore per un migliore raffreddamento e parafanghi anteriori più larghi per ospitare pneumatici più ampi, migliorando la manovrabilità. La sospensione Magnetic Ride è equipaggiata con pneumatici Goodyear F1 supercar larghi 245/40 R 20 davanti e 275/35 R 20 dietro, e freni anteriori Brembo con pinze a sei pistoncini e dischi a due pezzi da 14,6 pollici. General Motors afferma che circa il 70% dei componenti architetturali è unico per questa vettura, quindi non rimarrete delusi se siete appassionati di auto esclusive ad alte prestazioni.
