Inje Speedium Notes

The Inje Speedium road course is part of a motorsports resort called Inje Auto Theme Park, located 120 km from Seoul, South Korea. The circuit started operations in 2013, with a 2.43-mile (3.91-km) layout featuring 20 corners carved over hilly terrain to create a highly technical course according to the design of Alan Wilson. Racing enthusiasts from all over South Korea visit the resort to attend their favorite motorsports events, enjoy some track time on high-performance vehicles, or relax in the Motor Cultural Space Complex. Inje receives copious amounts of rainfall in the summer and is cold and dry in winter, with considerable snowfall.

The FIA Grade 2 Inje Speedium raceway consists of two circuits, the 1.6-mile (2.57-km) North Track and the o.85-mile (1.37-km) South Track. Races start in the long front straight, going north into the uphill, banked-turn combination of corners one, two, and three. Turn number four is steeper, tighter, and requires heavy downshifting to maneuver. The first right-hander in the circuit is turn number five, which is multi-apex and divided into two sections, 5A and 5B. The blind sweeping corners number six, seven, and eight place heavy demands on the driver's reflexes because of remarkable visibility restrictions. The South Track starts at corner thirteen and is full of blind turns because of its constant uphill climbing. After passing corner number 18, the racers develop higher velocities around 180 km/h (111 mph).
