Der Porsche 991.2 GT3 Cup ist ein speziell gebauter Rennwagen, entwickelt für Porsches Einheitsserien weltweit, eingeführt für die Saison 2017. Gebaut auf derselben Produktionslinie in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen wie straßenzugelassene 911-Modelle, bevor er Rennvorbereitung im Weissach Motorsport Centre erhält, verfügt der 991.2 GT3 Cup über einen saugmotorisierten 4,0-Liter-Boxermotor, der 485 PS (357 kW) bei 7.500 U/min mit 480 Nm Drehmoment produziert. Der Motor dreht bis 8.500 U/min und nutzt Direktkraftstoffeinspritzung mit Motorsport-Technologie.
Das Auto wiegt nur 1.200 Kilogramm rennfertig dank intelligenter Aluminium-Stahl-Verbundkonstruktion. Es behält den markanten 184 Zentimeter breiten Heckflügel von seinem Vorgänger bei und läuft auf 18-Zoll-Zentralverschluss-Rennrädern mit 270 mm Michelin Slicks vorne und 310 mm hinten. Verwendet im Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, Porsche Carrera Cup-Serien global und ca. 20 verschiedenen Einheitsmeisterschaften, hat sich der 991.2 GT3 Cup als weltweit meistverkaufter GT-Rennwagen etabliert. Mit einem Grundpreis von 196.880 Euro plus Steuern bietet er professionelles Rennen in Porsches hoch wettbewerbsfähigen Kundenmotorsportprogrammen.
