The Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Z51 is the eighth generation of the famous American sports car. This version is a design by Tom Peters, in production since 2019 at the Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky, United States. It runs a 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 engine rated at 490 HP at 6450 rpm and 465 lb-ft at 5150 rpm of torque. This powerful engine bursts from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 184 MPH. The Corvette C8 Stingray Z51 comes in a two-door mid-engine rear-wheel-drive layout with an 8-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. A particular enhancement for the Z51 package is the third radiator, added to provide extra engine and transmission oil cooling.
Including the Z51 performance package, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray has a price tag of over 85,000 dollars. This package includes a performance-tuned suspension system, performance traction management, electronic limited-slip differential, and 19-in alloy wheels with Michelin pilot sports 245/35 ZR19 upfront and 305/30 ZR20 on the back. Some of the additional improvements this Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Z51 carries over the base model are:
- The auxiliary engine cooling.
- Larger brakes.
- A beefier suspension.
- An aerodynamic rear spoiler-front splitter.
