The Honda Integra Type R DC5 represents the fifth-generation Integra's ultimate performance expression, produced 2001-2006 as JDM-exclusive hot hatch before limited North American availability as Acura RSX Type-S with detuned specifications. Powered by K20A inline-four producing 220 horsepower at 8,000rpm from 2.0 liters naturally-aspirated displacement, the DC5 Type R employed Honda's i-VTEC technology delivering high-revving character and 8,400rpm redline unmatched among contemporary front-drive competitors. Close-ratio six-speed manual transmission featured shortened throws and precise engagement praised by driving enthusiasts, while helical limited-slip differential managed torque delivery to front wheels minimizing understeer and torque-steer during aggressive cornering.
