Anneau du Rhin Note

The Anneau du Rhin is a 2.29-mile (3.68-km) raceway carved on a patch of woodlands just outside Biltzheim, France, near the German border marked by the Rhine River. The facility serves as a multipurpose motorsport venue hosting racing and motorcycling events for local clubs and associations. Several layouts are available in the Anneau du Rhin, including the 2.29-mile (3.68-km) Competition Course and the 1.86-mile (3-km) Course, which bypasses the elevation changes of the northwest segment of the track. The Alsatian climate is cool and moderately dry, with a pleasant temperature for racing during most of the year.

There are 16 corners in the clockwise trajectory of the Anneau du Rhin that starts at the beginning of the front straight, soon after exiting the Virage des Champions. High-performance vehicles develop up to 230 km/h (142 mph) by the time they get to Course Adrenaline, the first sweeper of the circuit. The Double Droit de la Jument is a multi-apex corner opening the highly technical stretch that snakes in the southeastern portion of the track, where racers need to focus 100% on steering control to avoid hitting the curbs. When racers pass the Gauche de la Foret, they finally get to an acceleration sector covering the sweeper "S" du Sanglier. A chicane called Virage Yvan Muller downregulates speed before entering the hilly final segment of the road course, which takes drivers back into the main straightaway.
