Der Porsche Cayman R 2011-2012 ist eine streckenfokussierte Variante der Cayman-Baureihe, die ein leichteres und leistungsorientiertes Paket bietet. Er verfügt über einen 3,4-Liter-Boxermotor, der 330 PS produziert, gepaart mit entweder einem 6-Gang-Schaltgetriebe oder einem 7-Gang-PDK-Getriebe. Porsche reduzierte das Gewicht durch Entfernung unnötiger Features, einschließlich Innentürgriffen zugunsten von Stoffriemen, und Verwendung von Aluminiumtüren. Die Aufhängung ist versteift, und die Fahrhöhe ist um 20 mm abgesenkt für verbessertes Handling. Einzigartige Außenelemente umfassen schwarz lackierte Akzente, Leichtmetallräder und einen festen Heckspoiler.
