La Mazda Miata MX-5 ND ha iniziato la produzione nel 2015 presso lo stabilimento Mazda di Hiroshima, in Giappone. Appartenente alla quarta generazione, quella attualmente in esposizione, la Mazda MX-5 aveva un prezzo di lancio di 35.000 dollari al momento del debutto. Questo roadster a due porte offre due opzioni di motore. Il modello base monta un motore 1.5 L in linea DOHC da 129 hp (131 PS), mentre per il mercato nordamericano è disponibile un’opzione da 2.0 L con 155 hp (157 PS). Il cambio può essere un manuale Skyactiv-MT a 6 marce o un automatico a 6 rapporti, capace di portare l’auto a una velocità massima di 127 mph (204 km/h), con un’accelerazione da 0 a 60 mph in 6,5 secondi.
Questa versione della Mazda Miata MX-5 ND è conosciuta anche come Mazda Roadster in Giappone e si presenta in due configurazioni: cabriolet a due porte o fastback retrattile a due porte. Ha un layout con motore anteriore centrale e trazione posteriore, racchiuso in una carrozzeria dal peso di 2381 libbre. È dotata di cruise control e limitatore di velocità per la sicurezza. L’impianto frenante prevede dischi ventilati con ABS su tutte e quattro le ruote, mentre la sospensione è a doppi bracci oscillanti con molle elicoidali indipendenti sull’avantreno e multilink al retrotreno, di serie su questa coupé. La Mazda Miata MX-5 ND monta pneumatici Bridgestone Potenza S001 205/50R16 87V sull’avantreno e 205/45ZR17 84W al retrotreno. Questa versione della Miata è un roadster molto affidabile, con costi di manutenzione contenuti, che offre ai guidatori prestazioni eccellenti, quasi da competizione, su strada.
