The Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Z51 is the eighth generation of the famous American sports car. This version is a design by Tom Peters, in production since 2019 at the Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky, United States. It runs a 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 engine rated at 490 HP at 6450 rpm and 465 lb-ft at 5150 rpm of torque. This powerful engine bursts from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 184 MPH. The Corvette C8 Stingray Z51 comes in a two-door mid-engine rear-wheel-drive layout with an 8-speed dual-clutch automated transmission. A particular enhancement for the Z51 package is the third radiator, added to provide extra engine and transmission oil cooling.
Including the Z51 performance package, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray has a price tag of over 85,000 dollars. This package includes a performance-tuned suspension system, performance traction management, electronic limited-slip differential, and 19-in alloy wheels with Michelin pilot sports 245/35 ZR19 upfront and 305/30 ZR20 on the back. Some of the additional improvements this Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Z51 carries over the base model are:

2020: Introduction of the C8 Corvette Stingray with a mid-engine layout, a first for the Corvette. The Stingray is powered by a 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine producing 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque with the optional performance exhaust. The Z51 Performance Package adds upgraded brakes, an electronic limited-slip differential, a performance suspension, an enhanced cooling system, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires. The 0-60 mph time is approximately 2.9 seconds with the Z51 package. Standard transmission is an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic, another first for the Corvette.
2021: Minor updates, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto added to the infotainment system as standard features. New color options, including Red Mist Metallic and Silver Flare Metallic, were introduced. Quality improvements were made to address early production issues, but performance and key specifications remained the same.
2022: Introduction of additional exterior color options and a new low-profile rear spoiler option as part of the Z51 package. Chevrolet also released a limited-edition IMSA GTLM Championship Edition inspired by the Corvette Racing team, with unique colors, graphics, and interior accents. Minor software updates were made for infotainment and system optimization.
2023: Introduction of the Corvette 70th Anniversary Edition, celebrating Corvette’s legacy with unique exterior colors, badging, and interior accents. The Z51 package remained largely unchanged, maintaining its focus on track-oriented performance. Chevrolet continued to refine software updates and made slight adjustments to option packages.
2024: Continuation of the core features of the Stingray Z51, with updates focused on minor interior and software improvements. Some color options were updated or replaced. Chevrolet also made incremental quality and reliability improvements, maintaining the C8 Stingray Z51’s position as a performance-focused sports car.
