El Nissan 370Z Nismo representa la máxima expresión del rendimiento de los coches Z, debutando en el Salón del Automóvil de Nueva York 2009 como una evolución orientada a circuito del 370Z estándar. Impulsado por el venerado motor V6 VQ37VHR de 3.7 litros que entrega 350 caballos de fuerza y 276 lb-ft de torque, la variante Nismo se distingue por una completa mejora aerodinámica, una suspensión de ajuste deportivo y un diseño agresivo que rinde homenaje a la herencia deportiva de Nissan.
Desde el punto de vista del rendimiento, el 370Z Nismo acelera de 0 a 60 mph en 5.4 segundos y alcanza una velocidad máxima de 179 mph. La transmisión manual de 6 velocidades ofrece una conexión directa con la plataforma de tracción trasera, mientras que los asientos deportivos Recaro y el sistema de escape afinado por Nismo realzan tanto la conexión del conductor como la respuesta sonora. El paquete aerodinámico incluye un splitter frontal funcional, un alerón trasero y faldones laterales que generan una carga aerodinámica significativa a velocidades de circuito.
A lo largo de su producción entre 2009 y 2020, el 370Z Nismo recibió varias actualizaciones. El modelo 2014 trajo un refresco importante con un diseño de carrocería más agresivo y mejoras en la refrigeración. En 2015 se introdujeron detalles estéticos refinados con luces diurnas LED y paragolpes renovados. Para 2017, Nissan añadió nuevas opciones de color y una transmisión automática de 7 velocidades opcional para ampliar su atractivo. El 370Z Nismo se mantuvo en producción hasta 2020, representando la última evolución de la plataforma Z34 antes de la llegada del totalmente nuevo Z.
