2020: Porsche introduced the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 with a naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six engine producing 394 hp, available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The GTS 4.0 featured sport-tuned suspension, a unique Sport Exhaust System, and design elements that set it apart from the standard Cayman models, reviving the classic Porsche driving experience.
2021: Porsche offered a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission as an option for the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0, enhancing performance with faster shifting and slightly improving acceleration times. New color and customization options became available for further personalization.
2022: Minor updates were made, with enhancements to the infotainment system and additional interior customization options. Porsche continued to focus on the model’s driving engagement, with few changes to the GTS 4.0’s core performance setup.
2023: Porsche introduced more options for the interior and exterior, including expanded color options and materials, while retaining the GTS 4.0’s performance features. The 4.0L engine and sport-oriented tuning remained unchanged, maintaining the car’s appeal to purists.
2024: As the 718 line moves closer to potential electrification, the GTS 4.0 continued largely unchanged, providing an unfiltered, naturally aspirated driving experience that has become rare among modern sports cars. Minor updates to technology and trim options were made.
